research theme:
Real-time Depth Visualization on X-Ray Fluoroscopic Images
abstract:
Radiography with C-arm systems is playing a major role in clinical. However, the radiographic projection images often interfere with physicians' efforts to better understand and measure the target position at different depths because the images are only two-dimensional. A simple measure displacement obtain the to targeting depth will be beneficial in surgical treatment. To this end, a novel 3-step method is developed. The method first reconstructs a volume data from X-Ray fluoroscopic images token from different view points, then estimates depths with the volume data, and finally displays the depths on the fluoroscopic images in real-time. The method is demonstrated by using simulated volume data. The volume data was reconstructed accurately with a set of X-Ray fluoroscopic images known positions. Experiments performed in a real environment were used to evaluate the results of the method, the volume data was generally estimated and displayed. The method provides a new solution to display depth of the underling structure derived from multiple X-Ray fluoroscopic images.
