We should be taught not to wait for inspiration to start a thing.
Action always generates inspiration.
Inspiration seldom generates action.

What's new?
  • June 2006: Best paper award at the "IEEE International Conference on Shape Modeling and Applications 2006, Sendai, Japan", for the paper "Spherical Wavelet Descriptors for Content-based 3D Model Retrieval".
  • April 3rd, 2006: Joined NAIST
  • March 2006:Got my PhD degree

    Research interests

  • 3D Shape matching, Point-based graphics, Geometry processing, Image processing and Computer vision

    Current research

Currently, we are focusing on the development of new methods for efficient retrieval of 3D models. 3D models are extensively used in many fields, and therefore, tools for their storage and efficient retrieval are required. Ongoing projects include:

  • 3D model description with local and global features.
  • Learning 3D shape classes from salient features.
  • Recovering 3D shapes from 2D sketches.
