This research has proposed the conceptual idea of AR-based inspection system which consists of the see-through HMD and the inertia navigation. Even though AR technology assists CAD processes successfully, the see-through HMD results in the first practical solution of AR for manufacturing processes, such as inspection and maintenance. By implementing on a small PC and inertia sensors, the whole system can be carried on operator's back and he/she can walk anywhere. The system assists to inspect target parts by superimposing helpful information on see-through real view. The AR-based inspection system has great potentiality to prevent human's wrong operation or to realize maximum performance in critical hazard areas.
